Today is an exciting day for me as one of my very favorite authors, Gena Showalter, is stopping by the blog to answer a few questions about her newest young adult release, Alice in Zombieland. I absolutely adored this book (read my review here), and Gena has managed yet again to make me fall in love with one of her fictional men. *dreamy sigh* Given that there are currently 9 books in her Lords of the Underworld series plus one in her new angel spinoff series, that's 11 strapping male specimens (counting Cole from this novel) that she's forced me to obsess over. FORCED I TELL YOU!
This is a truly spectacular tour the ladies at Kismet Book Touring have put together, so be sure and check the bottom of the post for all the amazing giveaway info plus a list of the other participating blogs.
Everyone, including Ali and her sister, thought Ali’s dad was crazy given his constant ramblings about monsters. Based on how people reacted to her dad, how would Ali go about telling people about the zombies in order to increase her chances of getting them to believe her?
Well, we saw what it took for her to discuss the subject with Cole, and that was a very… special situation. I think it would take something massive, like someone’s life being in grave danger, for her to ever open up.
What would Ali say is most terrifying about the zombies she, Cole, and the rest of the team face?
The fact so many people have no idea the zombies are out there—and so they have no idea what’s really happening around them. They aren’t fighting the spirit-to-spirit battles that could save their lives.
What might Cole say is Ali’s greatest strength? Something she needs to work on moving forward?
He would say her greatest strength is her fearlessness. She fights for what she believes in, and will never back down. He would say she needs to work on her quick-trigger temper. (Mainly because he’s a guy and he wants her to do what he says, when he says it.)
You look out your window right now and see a cloud in the shape of a white rabbit. What’s the first thing that pops into your head upon seeing it?
Sweet! It’s fightin’ time!
All your chapters have titles in addition to numbers. Do the titles come before you start writing the chapter or after you finish it?
After I finish (it was easier that way)
If the only tool you could use to promote Alice in Zombieland and get readers excited about reading it was the title of just one chapter, which title would it be?
Down the Zombie Hole.
If someone you knew and love approached you and spoke of monsters in the night, how long, if ever, would it take for you to believe them?
I think it depends on who approached me. There are people I love, and trust with every fiber of my being. There are people I love, but can’t trust at all.
Let’s say the Ali at the end of this first installment could offer the Ali in the beginning one piece of advice to prepare her for what she’s about to face. What would she most want that girl to know?
Whether you can see it or not, the happily ever after is on the way.
Thanks so much for stopping by Gena! More information on Gena and all her books can be found here:
